jimmy page is just plain incredible on guitar, robert plant rocks his heart out with the vocals, john paul jones backs up with bass and keyboard, and john bonham is just a beast on drums, i think only neil peart is better. from the most incredible version of stairway to heaven ever released to the acoustic going to california, this video rocks the whole led zeppelin world. the sound is amazing and i found no defect with this product. great producing by page, zeppelin will live on for a long time thru all this rap and hip hop. i just wish they had put the song remains the same on this.
Oh my.the first set.no words to describe it. This is a MUST buy for any and all Led Zeppelin fan young or old. This is the band at it's best.
Long live the mighty rock leviathan that is Led Zeppelin. "Led Zeppelin" is one that will never get old, and I'd even say it beats out "The Song Remains The Same".
It's Led Zeppelin, live, loud and all-powerful, rocking us at the high level only they reached. The songs are all top notch, the performances are insane, and there's hours of footage that will never stop blowing your mind.I already knew that Led Zeppelin where masters at what they do, but this practically redefined their level of excellency for me.
What can I say about this DVD that hasn't already been said. It shows their wide variety of styles that they blend together to make their own sound, and this DVD is a testament to one of rock's all-time greatest bands in their prime.Hope you all have lots of fun with this one.
Hammer of the gods, indeed. When you hear the bludgeoning opening riff to "Immgrant Song", it's more like a giant, plugged-in sledgehammer. From their pounding, electric anthems to their amazing, mellower pieces, this DVD has it all, and shows Led Zeppelin performing at the top of their game, proving that whatever they do, they do it great.
So if you liked that one, watch out, because this one will rock you again. Thanks for the time, and peace.
I held a candlelight vigil for John Henry "Bonzo" Bonham for months after his death. One of my favorite tracks from this set is Since I've Been Loving You. When everyone else was listening to the Bay City Rollers my room was literally wallpapered with Led Zeppelin posters, so much so that when I finally took them down (somehwere around age 26) the walls around the posters were yellow. I was one of the priviledged few to have seen Led Zeppelin live in New York City at the young age of 14. That would be awesome. If you are young and want to see what all the fuss was about buy this and you will know why they are truly the greatest.
This DVD set (sans the Immigrant song in the beginning of the second DVD which is a little fuzzy) is perfect.
I wrote letters to Swan Song begging them to convince them to go on.
I saw snippets of their O2 London tribute concert from December of 2007 (God Bless You Tube) and I must say, even in their 60s they've still got it.
(I had the coolest dad).
The bluesy sounds of the band paired with Robert Plant's orgasmic singing will blow you away.
(I still have the replies from a lovely woman named Diane who worked there).
Anyway, you get the point.
I truly wish the band would release their choke hold of the NYC concerts and release them on DVD in their entirety (You can see snippets of them from the movie The Song Remains The Same).
Buy this, you will not be disappointed.
I love this dvd. Absolutely amazing collection of performances. Excellent restoration work too. Highly recommended.
